Understanding the retouching process and possibilities with your headshots.

Create, extend, or replace a background, polish up favorite images, or use them for marketing materials!

Retouching can get a bad rap but done with a light hand, it can really make an image shine.

While all images are delivered edited, only a select few are retouched.

Most of my packages include complimentary basic retouching on top favorite photos.

This can include skin smoothing, eye brightening, teeth whitening, and fixing flyaway hairs.

It can also involve removing distracting background elements (exit signs, imperfections in walls, photo bombers) plus fixing large wrinkles/stains on clothes.

While I don’t do it unless expressly asked, it can also include slimming of face, neck, or body.

However, sometimes an image can need a little something extra.

Advanced retouching can help you achieve marketing goals or a certain look for your website.

One of my favorite things to do is a simple background extension to create a website banner or negative space for copy.

It can also be great to have a background completely removed so you have a little icon of yourself to plug into marketing materials.

Finally, Adobe AI has gotten unbelievably good, even in the past 8 months it’s gotten so powerful! Creating faux backgrounds has never been faster.

Another advanced retouching solution is combining images for a killer group shot where everyone looks great.

Another thing I am asked for often is to recreate previous headshots. Often these images were taken in another state with that office’s background used.

I can easily take your headshots here in Austin and make them match previous ones from elsewhere, no sweat.
