Krystle + Zak | The Springs Event Venue Wedding

I love Krystle and Zak’s love story!

The two met at Katy High School in 2003 and were just friends for ten long years.

Finally both single in 2013, the two got together and Zak proposed at the Creekwood Botanical Garden three years later!

Krystle laughingly told me that Zak saw her mowing the lawn in high school and fell in love immediately! Hah!

Gotta love a girl that can mow!

Truthfully, I think I’m extra fond of their story because it’s so similar to my own love story with Kevy. ; )

Last month, these two tied the knot at The Springs Event Venue in Brookshire, Texas.

Although it was a bit cold, this wedding was full smiles and happy tears all night!

Krystle’s sweet dad had misty eyes throughout the day and it was hard to see him and not get choked up as well.

Anyone else cry when they see someone else cry?

This wedding was Texan to the core with Zak rocking some killer boots and a cowboy hat!

Tasty BBQ was served, the last song was Josh Abbott Band’s “Oh, Tonight”, and the couple left sitting on the back of Zak’s truck’s tailgate!

Many congrats to these two! I know y’all are going to have a great life together!

Jes + Ian | South Austin Portrait Photographers

Jes and Ian are South Austin kids like yours truly, so it was fitting that we did the most ‘southie’ shoot ever!

You might remember these two from their Chapel Dulcinea wedding back in June!

We waited this long to finally do their “day after” session but it was worth it!

Warning…..this might be triggering……for serious pizza consumption.

Jes and Ian ate at the divine Homeslice Pizza their first night in Austin so we started the session there!

After that we hit other heavy hitters like the Jo’s wall, the Austin postcard mural and the skyline!

Note that bottom image and think of the classic 80’s film “Dirty Dancing“.

In my 8 years as a photographer, I’ve referenced this movie a million times during portrait sessions.

This marks the very first time I’ve ever seen someone pull off “the lift” however! I was shocked!

Ian’s brawny Midwestern roots served him well!

I certainly had “The Time of My Life” photographing Jes and Ian!

Sorry I couldn’t resist that terrible pun!

Many congrats to these two!

Marlene | Austin Graduation Headshots

Although an Abilene girl originally, Marlene moved to Austin from Washington DC after finishing law school earlier this year!

Since she’s entering a new time in her professional life and hadn’t taken graduation portraits, we did a small mini session to commemorate both.

Pretty sure Marlene picked me as her portrait photographer because my first name is Tara and she’s a huge Tara Lipinski fan!

Marlene ice skates as well if you can’t tell by those rocking stems she’s sporting!

We had a great time quoting lines from “The Cutting Edge” during our shoot…..”toepick”!

I also totally think Marlene looks like Nina Dobrev from Vampire Diaries, anyone else?

How lucky is that?

I wouldn’t say this is groundbreaking portraiture, but I adore Marlene’s confident pose in the image below on the left.

If I was an employer going thru potential job applicants, this photo would scream, “Yes, it’s me, the one that can turn this trainwreck of a company around”.

Hey, my tree is still up, so we can post Christmas light images still!

Marlene also just bought a brand spanking new Mustang convertible!

There’s something about the second car you own.

It’s usually more “you” and not a parental hand me down.

Anyone that knows me knows I am obsessed with convertibles and weekly lament selling mine years ago…..sigh.

Many congrats to you and your awesome life, Marlene!
